2010-2011 FASHION FORECAST
We are truly ascending into a new world of fashion, beginning 2010. It’s like a countdown to a whole new fusion of wearable designer fabric technology, in which I call “Blue Silver “.
In this VI Forecast, up and coming new designers are too, feeling a new energy stirring, allowing them to be freer and open- minded to creating this new type of collection. They are light in weight of fabric and the hardware is light carrying a clean chromatic shine that looks so unreal and feel like you are wearing your own skin. The colours are luminescent adding a glow to anyone in these pieces. A freshness that’s crisp and appealing. It’s fashion at a new level.
I think Tokio Hotel, the band from Germany, new album cover art and title” HUMANOID” describes Blue Silver well, that a new wave of dressing is upon us and a new way of thinking. Lady Gaga and Rhianna have been pushing fashion boundaries, especially this past year, hinting towards what is to come. Designers, such as Alexander McQueen, 2010 SS ATLANTIS, spoke in volumes for a new direction.
So here it is, long- extended braid, surpassing the shoulders, elongated eyes, shoes with tall heels, fabric like skin against the skin, dreamy, luminescent colours, real and yet unreal designs pushing realism in a speed of light. So flash forward into 2011, and witness wearable fabrics that dance with illuminating waves of colours that are transparent. Affordable? Yes, indeed.

The boutique was festive, filled with industry people, champagne and sweets...not too many :) But of course the best part was the new collection called BIRD by Juicy Couture. Its a more UP and Modern collection based in gray and black colour scheme. What I loved were the DETAILS...I really enjoyed the jacket pieces, A Modern Military jacket with great details in cut,lining, stitching, beautiful inspired military buttons and decal. Both come in Black and a Gray. They also carry some great blouses/tops with cut-outs at the shoulders, and on the back of some pieces, but it had a lot of versatility to them that you can change around your outfits with ease.The prices are a great deal for the quality and details they placed in each garment which is lasting from season to season. Jimmy Choo launches a new social media campaign “YOU, YOUR SHOES AND 72,” to raise awareness in advance of the launch of the Project PEP collection, which will debut in the United Kingdom on October 29 and worldwide on November 3.
Jimmy Choo will donate 25% of the net sales from Project PEP to the Elton John AIDS Foundation. With this funding, the Elton John AIDS Foundation can directly support the pioneering Simelela Rape Centre in Cape Town that was set up in 2005, with the mission to administer victims of abuse with the vital HIV preventative PEP medication (Post Exposure Prophylaxis) and provide the infrastructure for medical, counselling and legal support.
The proceeds raised by Project PEP will enable the clinic to stay open day and night providing 24 hour/7 days a week access to the vital life saving treatment that has to be administered within the first 72 hours of exposure to HIV.
Jimmy Choo is asking you to take part in a new social media campaign which will feature a photo competition to generate awareness of the vital 72-hour time window.
The slogan for the campaign is “YOU, YOUR SHOES AND 72” and many of the winning images will be showcased at the global launch of Project PEP at Selfridges London on October 29 and at Jimmy Choo Project PEP events globally.
